Just got myself this player (to replace my failing Compacks 5000  - chucked it in bin :D ). I am very pleased with it, running Prog Scan via my AE100 and finally have got rid of the ghosting that I had got used to with the compacks.

Anyway have done many searches for a multiregion hack for this player. Found a remote hack on VideoHelp Denon 1710 multiregion hack but this does not work.

I suspect it requires a firmware upgrade, but can't believe no one has one posted anywhere.

Can any of you help me out ? :lease:

    Thanks in advance
    Paul

Only way to mod Denon models is via a firmware mod, there are no "free" handset hacks. Any "good" Denon dealer should oblige for a few quid.

Good luck with the finding a GOOD denon dealer, my local Denon dealer point blank refuses to mod my 1710 because I didn't buy it from them. I even offered to pay   Yet they still said no.

I just bought a new player & guess what???? I didn't buy another Denon & never will again if that is the standard of service I can expect from one of their dealers.

    Regards

Cabstar - I have just received the multi-region firmwire disc for my player (from multiregionupgrades.com). Cost me a tenner. Will let you know how it goes.

    Thanks

Well after typing my previous post, I thought, sod it I'll give it a go now. And 5 mins later i've now got a fully multi-region player :D

Only thing you have to be aware of is that all the settings are set back to default, so my component progressive out to my projector was set back to scart (had to go and rig up a portable TV to go in and set it back. But heh Hoo

    Hi Kevin,

No problem, i've still got it. If £5.50 (inc P&P) sounds OK, PM me to arrange.

    Cheers

    Paul
