How about Marantz 4200 at £289.95
    Mission 72 set at £349.95
MJ Acoustics Pro Sub 50 at £399.00

That totals £940, gives you 5.1 sound with the extra oomph and leaves you some left over for decent speaker stands and cabling.

thank's for the advice, but unfortunately due to lack of floor space the mission's are impossible as i would'nt be able to see out my window!which is why I had thought about the take 5.1 set and no room for the extra spks from the 3802 but I will look at the marantz.

The Energy Take 5 System is a great package for it's purpose, i.e, if you're looking for small speakers due to space restrictions etc, then they are as good as you can buy. Frequency responce of the sats goes down to 90hz. With your budget, you could also check out the KEF Eggs (KHT2005) which have a unique look about them and offer similar performance to the ENERGY'S. Both would go well with the Marantz SR4200 as I have heard them first hand with this particular receiver.
