As above my new laptop has a dissapointing picture when displaying on my 1080p Samsung LCD.

The picture actually seems worse than my old 720p laptop.

The laptop is set to 1080p and connected via hdmi. The TV is on "screen fit" mode as nothing else really works.

The text is a sort of shimmer effect and isn't as legible from a distance as it should be.

Is this a problem with the laptop or the TV?

I looked for a Dell XPS 15Z owners thread but couldn't find one.

    Thanks.

Set the tv to bit map or native resolution.

It's a Samsung 32" LCD and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have either of those options. "screen fit" seems to be the closest.
