Dell have their 720 colour inkjet printer on special offer for £9.99 including devivery and vat.

    Dell 720 offer

There is a small catch, they add a cable for £12.80 on the web site with no apparent way of removing it. This puts the price up to £22.80

If you call up the sales telephone line (0870 907 5818) and insist on only the printer then they will supply it for £9.99.

    What a bargain.

There is an option in the printer's "Customise & Buy" section to remove the cable.

You can now remove the printer cable, they must have got fed up with people calling up, lol.

BTW the link needs affiliating if someone knows how to do it.

Yeah, not a bargain as far as I can see from the ink prices, lol , just making people informed that they can remove the cable,

Much better way is to buy a £40 epson and then buy inks for £3 from SVP.

    in my opinion

Normally, I wouldn't touch an inkjet, far too expensive to run.

I use a laser for 99.5% of my printing, but if I need a few colour photos then it will suffice, so for me it is a bargain.

There are plenty of aftermarket retailers selling ink cartridges for the 720 much cheaper than Dell.

For a tenner who cares, it's essentially disposable.

What do you expect for £9.99. Nearly all printers come with small size ink cartridges as default. It's to encourage you to buy the full size ones asap.

The small ink cartridges havnt been a problem for me as i dont use the printer that often. It was worth the £10 just for the homebrew lables I printed from it.

Anyone got a link for aftermarket cartridges for the 720 printer?
Which Lexmark is it based on?
    Will Lexmark cartridges work?

Here are some links to 720 cartridge sellers:

    Cartridgesave

    Ink2u

    Inkprices

    Selectafont

I don't know any of these suppliers and I am sure that there are lots more if you look around.

I have also seen reports that the black is similar to Lexmark 16 (large) and 17 (small) and the colour Lexmark 26 (large) AND 27 (small) and that they fit if the angled peg on the cartridge clip is bent. You will have to try this one yourself.

It appears that ink refill kits work well with these cartridges.

    :)

It looks like you have missed this offer, they change quite quickly.
