    Hi

Going to rplace my laptop with a desktop as i dont need portability.

Been looking at the Dells and qwuite like the new slim inspiron 530s.

Has anyone got one of these machines?

They have a resonable deal on, here are the specs i put together:

    Components
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E4400 Processor (2.0GHz,800MHz,2MB cache)
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium - English
    Dell™ 22" Black Wide Flat Panel (E228WFP) - UK/Irish
    2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]
    320GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA/100 Hard Drive with 16MB DataBurst™ cache
    256MB ATI® Radeon® X1300 Pro PCI Express graphics card
    16x DVD +/- RW Drive

    All for £545.99

Can you get better deals bartering with them on the phone?

Phone them up and try, they'll probably give a little discount or throw in a free extra.

Definitly phone and never accept their first offer. Tell them you'll go away and think about it, don't worry they'll keep ringing you back to secure a deal offering even more in the process.

    Hi

This Dell E-Value Code 305-D09V03 has been doing the forum rounds and will give you a similar PC for around the £400 mark delivered.

I have bought 4 or 5 dells over the years and have always managed to get a wee bit extra over the phone.

First time I tried it, I saved £240 off a £1300 laptop because I said I had had a good price for a compaq

Always remember that you can 5% back through quidco, so that should be your starting point.
