Seems £920 was incorrect as well It is actuall £1022.25 !!!

Anyway I have since received a phone call from Dell saying sorry but due to a technical error the price of £340 was incorrect and we have now fixed this. We can't let you have one for this price but as a gesture of goodwill we will give you a discount and free shipping!!

Well have now received an email with the discounts available to me and they cover all the TFT's from the 15" to the 20" but for the 19" which was what I originally ordered has the biggest discount of 32% which makes it £681

    What do I do ??

In the powerbuy thread I was about to get the CHT 15 sub now I've received the mail from Dell I want the 19" TFT !!

    What to do ??????????????????????

Depends what you are using the monitor for. There is no TFT screen that can currently play games adequately or display moving pictures. Just load up some flash animations from the web and watch your picture die.

They are very nice for serious work, however for home entertainment I would not recommend one.

They probably increased the price later on from £900 to £1000 so that they can re-coup the costs they lost out to when they have made these offers to people. Like someone said if you need a monitor for applications then this a good deal, for games the latency would make the games a bit blurry unless you dont play First Person shooters or fast scrolling games. This would make a great second monitor for me as Im into 3d graphics where two displays are very handy, and would look nice next to my rather large 21" CRT!

A friend of mine has a 17" Sony TFT and he plays Half Life and MOHAA without any probs ??? is it really bad for gaming or is it just not as sharp as a CRT ?

I was thinking of using it on the HCPC as a monitor for when I didn't want to use the projector.

But I only ordered it in the first place because of the stupidly low price lol

I'm told £681 is still a good price for the 19" TFT though, and my thinking is if I where to get it and have a play with it then see If i'd actually make use of it or not I could probably sell it on without making any loss ??

By the time you come to sell it they will have probably dropped to that price anyway,

I've been happily using my 15.1 TFT (Philips) for the last 2 years.

NO problems with games, graphics etc...(MOHAA, RTCW, CMR2 etc.).

    I'm into PC'ing, & acquired my AE-100 last March.

What are you guys talking about?

    Am I blind or what?

Text is excellent now with DVI.

JSW, borrow & buy both :D

Perhaps I have demo'd the wrong displays then?

We have NECs in work and they give me a headache after using them all day due to the fuzziness when scrolling. I have tried a few in the shops from various brands and I wouldn't be able to play games on them.

Perhaps I should revisit the tests (I know Tomshardware had some good reports recently on some 18" TFTs). It would be nice to free up the space on my desk!!!

The DELL has a response time of 25ms so it should be able to cope with 40fps, which means that blur will be kept to a minimum.

Maybe I just play too much counterstrike and am biased as I know a little blur may cost me a couple of frags :p

I have 4 x 18"TFT monitors on my desk at work, and have no problem with them at all.

Just make sure you have the correct resolution and refresh rates, or you won't be getting the best out of the displays.

    Not as yet.

Got a phone call from Dell a couple of days ago asking for me card details, I checked the price and was told 682 + vat !!
I explained I had an email which said it would be 680 inc vat but the person i got that mail from is on holiday and the person on the phone cant authorise it.

I will post the outcome when i know.
