Just had a lot of work done in the new house and have finally got the plasma on the wall over a new fireplace. We've built out a fake fireplace and fake walls either sides.

Possibly not one for the avforums but what do you guys and girls think about the colour or colours for the walls here. The rest of the room will be white (for now) and the wooden floor (you can just see a bit in the picture will be fitted next week)

That's not MY set up, I pinched it off the pioneer thread, to give whistlingDogg and idea.
Mine will hopefully be fairly similar, I am getting the same stand and paint it a similar colour.

I still have to sand down my walls this weekend :(

I have to ask - whats the point of a fake fireplace? Why not just *not* have one?

Don't mean this in a bad way or anything, just genuinely want to know :D

You might also want a look at the "plasmas out" thread . Probably the most complete record of plasma setups in the known universe :D .
Members Home Cinema Gallery , would also be a good place to look

Not sure if my original thread read that well. The fireplace isn't really fake, it's a real fireplace but the chimney breast is fake (i.e. not a real chimney). The fire is actually side vented off to the left and outside (they couldn't have it going straight out the back as there wasn't enough room).

Originally I was going to have just the plasma on the wall without the fireplace. But I thought if I later wanted the fire in, it would probably have to be all done again.

There are lights in the alcoves btw. I'll post more pictures when I get it painted.

Really happy with it, especially the height of the screen. So many people have their's mounted too high.

The speakers are mission cubes if anyone is interested.

I've got a fireplace, real one, but with no fire.
