Decoding RTSP stream

Novice Member
I have several security IP cameras feeding into a VMS and have an odd problem I'd like to troubleshoot. The camera image has a time/date watermark that the camera places on its video feed. For some reason, the timestamp from the VMS tends to drift away from the correct time.

This occurs on all my cameras EXCEPT ONE. One camera never has this issue, and the only difference is it's a slightly newer model while the others are the same older model. Whatever is allowing this one camera to stay in sync must be evident in the RTSP stream from it.

I've already asked the VMS vendor and it's close to useless. The newer camera might be ONVIF compatible while the others aren't, but I can't verify that because of conflicting information I'm finding.

So, what is a good way to analyze the video stream from an IP camera regarding metadata?
