Hi, does anybody know if seperate dolby digital/dts decoders exist. Something that takes in a coax or optical line and output the 6 or 7 channels so that i can put this into seperate amplifiers.

Many thanks,
Stuart.

you have asked 2 distinc questions there.....

yes there are deconders, but as far as i know, there are none that do both DD and DTS and they are all old.

As far as something which can take a digital input and output multiple channels, this would be more accurately a home cinema processor. There are loads of these about once you get above £1k and still plenty above £500

all the best

Technics SHAC500D if you can find one were about £290 but saw them about for about £100 DD and DTS if I remember rightly does basically what you asked for!

I am surprised, look at yamaha's DSP E800 and the Yamaha DDP-2 these do 5.1. There is no such thing as 7.1, 6.1 decoders are still very expensive unless you buy a 6.1 receiver and use the pre amp outs.
