looking to complement my Plasma TV and DVD (HK) both progressive scan compliant.

Which one should I be looking at - I thought the denon was the best option until I spoke to another store. Any one out there who can put in a couple of pence worth ???

    Cheers

Personally i like the HK stuff it will match your DVD and the amps remote will operate the DVD for you. What speakers are you looking at? Will you use amp for video switching???

I was looking at getting the Kef 2005.2 unless any other recommendations - dunno if to make 6.1 surround. As for switching, thought about that, I believe the Denon has dedicated full Mhz setup dunno much about the HK.

Is there a big difference, I will have sky plus too soon. May also get an Iscan Ultra (HD if I win lottery)

Still trawling web for best package offers for both

Dont the trawl the web mate get to your local dealer, I would reconmend a demo with infinity Orues IMHO they are as good as if not better than the KEF eggs.

Go have a listen and a look and see what you think.

Thanks again - still dunno which amp though, any major factors ?

Also is it worth buying the additional speaker for 6.1 or not ?

HK is 5.1/6.1/7.1 selectable, a lot of people like the 6.1 sound and say it does add to 5.1, no 7.1 sources at the moment but they do have logic 7 that will allow 5.1 to be sampled to 7.1 very effectively.

the audio delay on the 3803 is a big factor if you have a plasma its a big plus.

cant comment about the other amp

Have you listened to the amps - It's a lot of money to spend on the say so of shops and people like us!

If you're in 3803 territory, I'd add in Pio Ax3 & Yamaha rxv1400 (another amp with audio delay and component video switching)

If you have a demo I expect there would be a lot of people interested in your views, personally I would expect the HK to be much better in stereo and and possibly a little better in av.

But then i'm a an HK fan - but the HK would be better in stereo, i'm fairly sure of that.
