    At present I have a 36" PD30 with Sky+, Toshiba 220, Sony STRDB930 playing through a Tannoy Centre, Kef Q and Kef Cresta's. With a psb Sub.

I may have up to a £1000 and thought the best move would be to change the reciever and DVD player but what a choice:)

I am struggling to decide the better option. My head tells me to go for a HK25 DVD player and a whole range of recievers to choose But my heart tells me to save money as I like my STRDB930 and cant compare it in house to the others eg:

    Pioneer VSX D912?
    Sony STRDB2000-Lot cheaper
    Denon 3803 or 2803??
    Yamaha RXV1400RDS

So much choice... and a wife saying save the cash.... In order to get away with this I need te spending of up to a grand to make a marked difference to PQ and sound:)

Change the source first, and if you like your amp, why change that? Perhaps look at some speaker upgrades...

I would say your speakers are easilly the weakest link, especially those awful Cresta's. I had some of these and to be honest, was appalled that Kef would put their name on such a thing.

How about moving the Q's to the rear, sell the crestas and centre. Buy 3 new matching fronts.

    Kef Q5 or Q7 and Q9C.

Take your amp to a dealer and have a listen to B & W, Monitor Audio, Mission and Kef etc.

upgrade to a PS DVD player, or get a DVD recorder (best waiting for new PS Panny recorders.)
OR like suggested take your amp to a dealer and have a listen to some other kit!
