I have decided to splash out and go for the Pioneer
PDP-50MXE1.
A few things I do not understand.
1. You can get different types of cards fitted.
I will be putting everything through my amp, including video,
so I was planning on sending via component to plasma.
Is this a bad idea ?????
2. What are scalers/Lumogen etc. etc. and do I need one.
Please help guys.
Johnny.

If I could add another question:

3. Does it have the same buzzing problem as the Pioneer 43" versions?

Could any willing owners of this Pioneer, please give
some honest opinions, a sort of pro's and con's.......
Cheers.
Johnny.

Hello Johnny

Dont worry the pioneers one of the most popular sellers at the moment. Now lets have it right, Its Hi definition compliant, It has the HDMI digital input, It has a resolution of 1280x768 which is good.
and most importanlty it looks the nuts !
As far as i no ther is no noise from the fans on this version of the plasma.

most signals the screen isnt truely matched for it will scale to fit.

I take it that S is for Silver............
Does anyone know of a cheaper option than
AV Sales.
Thanks guys.
Johnny.

Hi

Just to clarify a few points
The PDP-50MXE1 does not have a HDMI digital input there is a potential for a 3rd party add on board hopefully coming soon

Regarding noise I have a 43MEX1 which has the very low level buzz that you get with most plasmas - But to be honest you won't hear it unless you try late a night with no audio on - It does have fans but after almost 100 hours of use have never kicked in

These comments are coming from my experience with the PDP-43MXE1 - If one of the the experianced guys would care to correct me, or elaborate that would be welcome

Many thanks

RON

I have e-mailed Pioneer technical support three days ago regarding this query.
So far I have not received a reply.
Does anyone know for definite, that there is going to be HDMI made available
for this plasma.
Thanks.
Johnny.
