    Hi all,

So its upgrade time and Il be ordering a new i5 and motherboard at the end of the month.

Ive not actually been building that long and I seem to have by default fallen into the ASUS camp, but rather than follow trend for the sake of it I was wondering if there was actually a general consensious over which of the many mobo manufacturers or even models are out there that stand out.

I was slightly drawn to the ROG Maximus VII Ranger but then I've read that actually theres nothing particularly superior about these vs many other Gaming motherboard which is why I've decided to reach out as I literally have no idea who makes decent boards above others.

So any advise? if you were in the market for a 1150 board with up to say £140 to spend are there any job out boards to you? ATX preferably.

    Thanks
    Grangey

i bought the MSI z97m a while back to build my first gaming PC ,
i wouldn't say it was the best , but it has done me good so far.
it also has the m2. sata port , if i ever want to fit one ( but i think most z97's had them anyways )
