    hi guys,

i've just bought the sony AV receiver STR-DA1200ES (£399.99 from Sony-Style)
the guy there did me a deal on some brand-new speakers where the box had been on display, they were £250 apparently and he's giving them to me for £160, but i still have to see and have them demo'd

i was wondering for up to a budget of £200 max, what would be the best speakers. i was thinking of the KEF KHT 1005 wich are on ebay for £150, or even the 5005 wich are there too for around the same price, although im a bit sceptical about these.

    Thanx for the opinions.

Hi, The 1005's are good. But If was you I would build my system over time ie with 200 quid I'd get just two fronts and purchase the centre / sub etc as and when I could afford it.I've had a look on fleabay and you can get a pair of kef iq3's for that price.
If you dont mind going the second hand route you could probably pick up some kef 2005 eggs on this forum thats what i did and the're substantially better than the 1005's imho.

    Good luck mate
    Ollie
