Hey - the old knees and the crappy weather but I want to get back into running .. was thinking about a running machine, and I can see you can pick them up quite cheap - but they also look like they would fall apart as soon as you would get on it.

Any chances of picking up a decent runner or X-Trainer for £200 ?

Your trainers will fall apart before most cross trainers, personally i'm a huge fan of running in the outdoors, I only ever do roadwork or crosscountry, I like the varies in incline and surface.

I'd recommend an elliptical trainer as opposed to a normal running machine, however I can't recommend any certain ones. Maybe others can!

If your knees are dodgy then I'd say go for the cross trainer, can't offer any recommendations though...

however, do you have a push bike?

you can pick up a set of rollers or a simple trainer for around half that price I'd expect. :)
