    Hi,

I saw that "Deadwood: Season 1" was now for sale, in a local DVD store, and whilst perusing the back of the box set I noticed that there is a short warning that goes something along the lines of:

"Some episodes have been edited from the transmission version".

Now, as far as I know, the series was NOT censored by the BBFC. However, their website doesn't even list the show as having being certificated yet for home viewing.

And, as far as I know, the company who are releasing the set in the UK, haven't pre-censored the show either. So, there's something very dodgy going on here!

The show is unlikely to have been edited for music (e.g. rights issues, contractual issues), as most of the music in the show was a score, and not pop music or music that is likely to have needed clearance rights.

Therefore, if anyone knows why the Region 2 (UK) release differs from the US Region 1 set (or the transmitted version we all watched on Sky 1), would they be kind enough to explain what the differences are, and if they are noticeable.

    Thanks. :)
