Great review, saw this last night, really enjoyed it.

Great action and funny, not family friendly though!

      Go see it.

Does anyone who has seen this think the comedy/4th wall aspect will diminish the enjoyment from repeated viewings?

I struggle to re-watch 'comedies' time and again as the impact of the jokes fade and then just become an irritant.

I'm getting a bit super hero'd out at the moment with films being released on what seems like a weekly basis

However this looks like good fun and maybe worth a watch

I do kind of agree, It has got pretty stupid when you have all the tv shows also!

I actually do not have time for them all, Which is annoying but at least when I do want to watch them the Bluray sets will be cheap :D

Great review Cas, The trailer had me chuckling to myself and I am a fan of RR, He is always amusing!

I agree with that. I feel he should be a bigger star than he is, i don't think i have ever see him in a bad performance, yes some of the films may have been awful but he wasn't.
He also seems to have no vanity, despite how he looks, and can do serious pieces as well as comedy without issues.

Love deadpool and I'm not easily impressed. I wasn't even a big fan of the new Star Wars even though many love it. Seen it 4 times aswell, just too much. Stuff over shadows what could of been epic. After the 7.3 from ign my expectations got a reality check. Boy were they wrong.

But this movie is pretty amazing.a few minor things but nothing that will over shadow the movie. This is what a deadpool movie should be, the bad taste from that xmen movie has gone and I am looking forward to watching it again. Loved the comedy, action, everything. Loved how the story was mixed, in terms of going back and fourth.

9.0 for me, I'd like to give a 10.0 but imo no movie is perfect. This also isn't a review but just an opinion

Also reading that they must of known it was good. Maybe because of the Stan lee seal of approval. But got the green light for deadpool 2 prior to the release.

I think you could sit through multiple sittings and still enjoy it. Long term, you wouldn't bother unless it comes in a really amazing special edition lol. Over time the jokes will become a grind to watch. It's an import part of the movie and something that sets it apart from most movies. It's pretty much an all out comedy, even in the fight scenes,it's packed with jokes.

great movie , i do think though that if this wasnt supposed to be a family movie , there could have been a bit more blood, guts and gore . but other than that good film , much better than green lantern .

It's true that you can remember jokes after a while and comedies wear out. My only problem with the film was the fact that the studio "half-termed" Deadpool, there are no BBFC cuts so it was Fox itself making sure they'd get a 15, then announced a Director's Cut Blu Ray - which is brilliant as long as it's the 18 we thought we were getting from all that marketing, if they just add 5-10 minutes more then it'll be mostly gore.

I loved the movie don't get me wrong, and some of the jokes in the trailers might have been changed for ad-libs that the director and star thought were funnier, but I hope they go all out for this 18 certificate in the Spring.

Yep. And I found the trailer very irritating! Seems to be just me from what I can tell though. And naturally I am biased to start with... ;)

Seriously, I was hoping for something like Watchmen - it certainly seems nothing like that. And isn't Ryan Reynolds a bit....old? to be coming out with the rather nerdy sounding teenage/20-something dialogue? Could be just me though! And if I am wrong when I get round to watching it, I will put my hand up and plea guilty! :)

This is a Marvel character I know nothing about. Quite tempted to see it though.

Best comic film since Kickass? Cos thats the only comic film I've been bothered to see, damned love it to hell though.

Think I said this in the podcast thread, but the laddo want to see this and to I wasn't that bothered, but I'm liking this the more I read about it.

      Agreed.

Imho there should be a dedicated Marvel universe sub-forum (like the Star Wars one) so that Disney's unremitting barrage of comic book origins / prequels / sequels can all be assembled in one place!

      Indeed.

When I first heard about this movie, I thought it odd to be remaking a Dirty Harry sequel.

Despite being whisked back to what felt like the early eighties in terms of cinema projection quality at the Vue in Reading (avoid screen 7), I thoroughly enjoyed this. Laughed my socks off through most of the film. It did feel a little too smug at times, but on the whole this was really good fun. A solid 8/10 for me.

the only downside to the film which stopped me giving it a 10 (i gave it 9.5) was when colossus told angel dust to cover up and we didn't manage to see her boob lol. come on deadpool its rated R let us see!

Cannot wait for the Unrated Blu Ray cut 9/10

Fricking awesome movie, I haven't laughed as much as I did in a long time. I went in thinking it would be good and it exceeded my expectations (there is not a lot of films that do that!) Stay right to the end for more Deadpool.

Fox make more movies like Deadpool, no more steaming turds like The Fantastic Four!

Deadpool may actually turn out to be the best film this year, I know it is only February...but seeing the competition this summer in the trailers beforehand I could be right!

Seriously, are people really saying this is the best comic book movie ever??? It's not even the best Marvel super-hero movie. I enjoyed the movie, though I didn't find it as funny as some people above, but some people are getting carried away a bit here. It's wackier and gorier than what we have come to expect from superhero movies, so it has that going for it. It's a fun movie, but an 8/10 it is not. Seriously have to disagree with you Cas.

Horses for courses, whatever floats your boat, other opinions may vary, opinions are like bottom holes....everyone has one, if the hat fits and on and on and on

Being factious, I don't really watch comic book films, I've seen Kickass, and Iron Man 1 oh and Batman the Nolan years so if I watch this and it is my fave then yes it is, in my experience the best comic book film

Hell some people love Transformers, but that don't make them wrong, well, hmmm maybe

Saw this last night, as a comic fan and a Deadpool comic fan they deserve all the success this movie gets (I understand the sequel has already been green lit?).

9.0 in my book. I don't understand why Dredd performed so badly at the box office when I reckon the opening weekend for this will take an easy $60m - $70m.

Glad that stuck very closely to the source material. R rated extreme version on the blu ray release I hope!

      Great review!

      Cheers, T1b
