Glad to hear they pulled this off, Wasn’t quite sure what direction they would take.

More of the same judging by your review :)

Thanks Cas, I will likely wait for the digital release of this one.

Personally just like in Deadpool 1, I hate the excess swearing although for some reason there were some occasions in this film where it did seem more appropriate. Like most recent Marvel films, the trailers don't prepare you for what's to come. But in this case, they "really" don't prepare you for what's to come.

Also, you may want to stay until the end, and I mean right to the end. The end credits scene(s) are excellent and then.........?!? ;)

I'm sure I read that in the early stages of Deadpool 2 that Ryan Reynolds had an argument with the studio about the direction they wanted to take it. He flatly refused and told them, his way or no way.

Great reviews Cas. if I can get away from work while this is on I will see this as if it's more of the same I'm sold.

Why does everypne call this "adult", when it's clearly "adolescent" in sensibility? o_O ... Arguably early adolescence at that... ;)

I went last night with my son. I would only give it a 6-7... he gave it 8... We both thought it was better in some ways than the first but for me it seemed to lack something maybe it didn’t have that shock value of the first Deadpool.
In the cinema I went to there were a few audience laugh out loud moments but in general the audience were quite quiet. I think it’s a film that needs watching a few times to appreciate all the references etc.

I went to the cinema last night to watch with the wife. We really enjoyed it. As the above poster has said the shock factor isnt there as much as you know its going to be crude/violent etc but we had a right laugh and people were laughing loudly all the way through the film was a great atmosphere in the screening.

I so loved this movie, I actually don't think it will have the same appeal on the repeated viewings but for a first viewing it was jam packed with LOL moments and crazy dialogue and visuals.

Deadpool has been a fave character of mine for many years, RR has completely owned this role more than Reeves with Superman or RDJ with Ironman. I literally cannot see anyone else doing this role . . . . EVER!

If anyone was on the fence about the first one then avoid this like the plague, for everyone else this is Xmas/Eid/Pancake day come early!

For those that loved the first Deadpool I can't imagine them not enjoying this just as much.

I thought the action set pieces & combat scenes were an improvement on the first. The non-linear narrative structure wasn't as successful this time around however. Four post credit scenes(?), stick around for them all.

I found the first half hour a bit of a slog but
once Wade & Russell are sent to the prison, things begin to pick up.

Great to finally see 'Cable' on the big screen, probably my favourite character from all the various X-titles of my youth. Using him as the primary antagonist works well.

Like the first there's nothing particularly original or ground breaking about the story, it's the meta humour and graphic violence that makes it.

Went last night, great fun, great action. Almost as good as the first one but the first just shades it with its superb beginning.

The English patient it is not, go and enjoy

I think this one works best when it diverges from the first one in tone. As others (I have read) have put it, there are a number of times when the film Zags when you thought it would Zig. Those for me were some of the best bits.
The end credits with the time travel was actually one of the funniest parts of the film, along with the song at the end.

Loved it as much as the first, liked all the references again.
the cameo of McAvoy and gang was great, the basic instinct scene was brilliant and having Juggernaut was very good a pity he didn’t do a Vinny Jones reference

Just back from seeing this, loved it!

What’s brilliant about this film is how a comedy action film that’s not taking itself seriously is so emotionally engaging.

The audience laughed throughout, I laughed throughout, its the most fun I’ve had at the pictures in a very very long time.

I wansnt keen on the original, didn’t see the appeal, but thought this sequel was a solid fun movie.

Oh and the sound track is awesome !!

Absolutely loved the first film, hated this one. It's hard to explain why without heading into spoiler territory so I'll keep this very top level. Where DP had a surprisingly light touch with most of the meta jokes happening inside the world of the film the sequel does far more mugging to the camera which just didn't work for me at all. The amount of pop culture references felt ramped up to ridiculous levels and seemed to substitute for well crafted jokes. When the best gag comes in the mid credits scene something, somewhere is wrong. Wasn't just me either, think there was maybe two or three laughs in the auditorium and that was it.

That's not to say there isn't some good here. The second act action scene is great and right up there with anything in the first film. Domino is a delight and Cable shows a lot of potential if they do a third film. There's flashes of potential in a ton of places but it all gets drowned under a film that, ironically, lacks a cutting edge or focus. Huge, huge letdown.

Watched this last night with my son and we both loved it.
More action and more characters, loads of jokes (most hit the target) and the film moved along at a good pace.

Love Josh Brolin as Cable and would defo like to see more of him popping up in the Marvel universe...only gripe would’ve loved to see more of the “BIG Guy” but I’m sure that’ll happen in more movies.

Also the end credits were hilarious.

Overall an enjoyable night at the cinema 8.5/10
