I read an article in a magazine recently about someone who used a clause in the "sale of goods act" that states " goods should have "freedom from minor defects".
The case involved the purchase of an LCD monitor for a notepad computer and was settled out of court.
How many dead pixels constitute within industry standard ?

I thought that manufacturers set their own definition of what is acceptable and what is defective?

Something like 7 around the monitor, or a group of 3 together perhaps.

You would have to check with the manufacturer.
