I bought an LCD TV from John Lewis about 8 months ago and I've just noticed it has a dead pixel near the centre. Although it's only one (I think) it's really noticeable and irritating.

Is it likely that the guarantee will cover this so I can get it fixed? I cannot find any specific info about this on the JL website.

    Ta!

In what way is it dead?
    Stuck off or stuck on?
Is it just one of the red/green/blue which has gone or all 3?

also which manufacturer is it. Best advice is to contact JL say your not happy (don't be aggressive about it) and ask them what they can do for you. give them a bit of time if they can't do something instantly and if still no joy speak to some one in customer services. being in the first year of the 5 year warranty though i would think it will depend on the manufacturer and most (if not all) don't offer 100% protection shame its outside the first 6months as you have greater rights in this period.

It's black, I spotted it whilst watching the snooker, it was really clear because of the green cloth!

    It's a Philips btw.

I'll give them a call then and see. If anyone's had an previous experience of this though I'd like to hear in case they tell me where to go.

good luck philips are notoriously difficult to be deal with, i don't like jl's chances of getting them to swap it for you. might have to see if jl will do anything themselves.
