One of my minidisc decks refuses to switch on so I'm thinking about replacing it. I've noticed this for sale at Superfi and am tempted to get one at that price. I've got a couple of hundred MDs that I've recorded myself and so would miss not playing them. Do you think this deck is worth it ? Have they ever made a High-MD hifi deck ?

I have the JB-980, and it would be a great replacement for your dead deck, it was the highest level last old-MD deck from Sony. Onkyo have a couple of Hi-MD decks, and there is a Hi-MD bookshelf system - you can browse the details at www.Audiocubes.com or WWW.Minidisc.Org. Unfortunately you have to order them from Japan.
