Just watched this film, one word.....astonisihing!
I heard about this film a few months ago and after reading a synopsis of the film and finally seeing a trailer for it i knew i had to see it.
Ive never seen a Shane Meadows film before but i think ill keep an eye on this guy from now on.
Everything about the film was spot on, the cast, the music, the shots, everything.
I was left pretty speechless after the film and watching the extras on the DVD just added to the film.
I advise anyone who hasnt seen this to rent it at least, it truly is a British masterpiece.

Agreed. I watched this and Saw on the same day at the pictures and wished I'd only seen this.

It's the only thing I've seen Paddy Considine in and thought that he was brilliant and the guy that plays his brother gave an amazing performance.

What a great local director Shane Meadows is. Check out his other films:

    A room for Romeo Brass
Once upon a time in the Midlands
    Twenty Four Seven

Bob Hoskins is excellent in 24/7 and Paddy Considine equally so in Romeo Brass.

I wasn't sure about Romeo Brass, very well acted but one of the strangest films I've seen.

You wouldn't want to meet Mr Considine down a dark alley though

Agreed this film is just fantastic.

and the best thing about it is it's just so british, no pandering to the US/World markets which so many films try to do but end up getting it wrong and appealing to no one in particular, bravo Shane :D

another good Considine film I'd like to add to the list is My Summer of Love, it's not aShane Meadows film but pretty damn good nonetheless ;)

Considine is also brilliant in In America, by Jim Sheridan. In fact the entire cast are great in that film.

Dead Mans Shoes was a fantastic film.
