My mate has offered me his old PS3 which has stopped working. Basically, the drive is refusing to open when he presses the eject button(would you believe with a very graphic adult movie stuck in there).

The PS3 is out of warranty so does anyone know the best/cheapest method of replacing the drive??

Did you have to provide a receipt or anything like that?

I believe the guy said he has 'been offered' the ps3, he might not even have it yet.

No they don't need the receipt. This will be the 2nd time my PS3 has been replaced/repaired and they've never asked to see a receipt. When you ring up they just want to know your details and the serial number of the PS3.

They do warn not to leave discs in as you won't get them back so your mates pron might be lost.
