Ive been looking at getting a reciever, guides have told me the total harmonic distortion (THD) should be less than 0.1%. The db790 is rated at 0.09% for stereo, but 0.7% for multichannel.

Is this a totally bad thing? Are there other recievers in the same price range that have a THD<0.1% when all channels are operating?

this likely follows on fro the saga where manufacturers rate their amps to get figures they want......i.e. big power ratings. It follows that there may well be knock ons from this. Now im not sure exactly under what conditions THD is coming from, but were it ALL channels driven, im not surprised by this in the slightest and would think a lot of integrateds will be similarly guilty.
