    Hi All!

I currently own 'dawn of the dead' and have just ordered 'night of the living dead'. My question is; is 'day of the dead' a worthy sequel to these classics and is it worth getting on DVD. If it is are their any differences between R1 and R2 versions.

    Cheers!!

Is Day of the Dead when they are holed up in the underground bunker?

If so, then it's ok. (For anyone reading this, no we don't take munching zombie films as 'art'. Hopefully pre-empting a deluge of 'they're c**p' coments!)

It's more comical I suppose, but some good 'snack' scenes [IMG].

If you like this type of entertainment, then yes, get it. It's all fun.

Yeah, it is the one when they're trapped in the underground bunker.

I think Day Of The Dead is superb if you like zombie films, which you obviously do. The special effects are far better than Dawn, the story sticks to the same idea as the first ones and the acting is just as bad [IMG] I say, find the best version and get it.

BTW, Anchor Bay will be releasing very special editions of Dawn and Day within the next year - I'm waiting for those... [IMG]

Sorry to disagree with the above, but I do take munching zombie films as art. Sorry.
Or are you using "we" as in the royal "we"? It's all a matter of taste. Or lack of it, I suppose.

"Day of the Dead" is superb, and says more about the problems experienced by the schism in modern day (80's) America than dozen's of art house flicks purporting to do the same thing. The military and scientific communities are wonderfully and humerously depicted. Not as much fun as Dawn, though.

Anyone know what special editions are due?

Descade, glad to see that you appreciate these film as much (maybe even more [IMG]) as me. I've only heard rumours about the special edition re-issiues from Anchor Bay, apparantly Day could be due this year, while Dawn late 2001 or early 2002. Dawn could be longer becasue they're trying to get hold of every single version of the film (which is alot) so that they can put them all onto a 2-disc set.

    I can't wait.

    Desade,

I step back in amazement. Sorry to say that I thought you may be one to slate these films.
My apologies. Glad to see you like them too.
And the royal we, yes you may call me Sire! [IMG]

    Sirs.

The thought of a 2disc definitive edition of "Dawn..." makes me very happy.
