Hi there,

A quick question....................

Are these DVD players multiregion ?

I see that some retailers advertise them as multiregion, but then other more major retailers will state that they certainly are NOT and some have actually said that it is illegal and the machines must have been modified and so in the event of a problem, Sony will NOT touch them.

Can anyone confirm please......................

No the Sony DAVS series are not multiregion as standard, you would need to get a hardware mod installed by a third party.

I bought a DAV-S300 fully modified multiregion last year from DVD Magic: www.dvdmagic.net

I don't know if the Sony warranty is void, but if you buy it modified from a company, that company should provide your warranty.

Mine is now over a year old and is therefore out of warranty but it still works perfectly.
