This was originaly tested agianst CRTs over on avs IIRC, and when I tried it I found it was more accurate without the LCD filter attached although I haven't tried it against a CRT front projector, only a monitor.
I think it was Jeff that found Dabs were selling them for £182:

I've no idea what software it uses though (for our purposes), but there may be a way to get round that.
Spyder2Pro has extra facilities (see ROnes posts on the LCD/DLP forum for SMART calibration), and the software will give you a colour temp reading, but the SpyderTV software only gives you the colour co-ordinates. The Colour temp can be calculated here though:
