Dash cam security

What do people do with their dash cams when not using car. Do you leave it where it is or put it out of sight. Just seen one on Amazon for£12!!!!!. Obviously its no big loss if this gets nicked but don't fancy the window going through.

We get dash cams for the dash cams..... :D

Sorry, wasn't much help was it! To be fair mate, they are very discrete if you place them right and let's face it, if some scrote wants in, regardless of if you have something in there or not they will.

The next one I'm fitting to my new a6 will be a blackvue and you can turn the LEDs off when set to park mode so not to attract unwanted attention.

Hi Steve,
How did you hard wire in ?
Did you pick up perminant live or ignition live ?
Did you use a USB buck 12v >5v ?
Lastly where did you get info on how to strip trim from such modern new cars, I know my i40 isn't as popular but I'm really struggling on the non intrusive feed to take behind rear view mirror.

Just be mindful - if it is stuck to the windscreen by a suction cup, they can unexpectedly fall off, as mine did in the sun the other day and set my car alarm off! Not good if that happens in the middle of the night.

I got a cheap one of amazon thats a packet of fags size with a flip down screen. I just fitted this to my sun visor with elastic bands and you can't tell anything is installed. Just need to make sure you have some sun glasses handy ;)

It was only a very cheap 720p model but does the job for what I want, some of its video footage is on the link below:
