Dangerous Dogs E-Petition

I'm sure all here will agree that whilst 99.9% of the time dogs are indeed man's best friend, there remains a small but dangerous 0.1% that pose a hazard to people. Invariably a dangerous dog is due to a negligent or deliberately malicious owner but currently in law criminal responsibility for attacks on private property (unless a proscribed area or state/quango owner) is not conferred on owners. Whilst civil action is, of course, still available the lack of an associated criminal conviction adds costs and time to the process.

In response to the most recent such (publicised) dog attack - alas just one of a depressing list of sufferers ranging from postal workers to children - an official e-petition has been created to lobby the Government to hasten their proposed changes to the law. The link for those that wish to sign is as follows:

I'm sure all dog owners here would agree that Dog ownership brings responsibilities. Time for them to be enshrined in law IMHO.
