Any idea how much it will cost to replace a damaged Firewire port on my Sony TRV14E digicam (now out of warranty). I think I damaged it when i tried to put the wrong lead in by mistake :( . My laptop no longer recognises a connection and I can only see one connecting pin in the port..

£129 according to the person that had a damaged firewire port on their camcorder Here. Obviously different places will charge different amounts, and the damaged parts could be very different so the price could be a fair bit more or less. You really do need to talk to a service centre to get a better idea of cost.
In the linked post the user had a camcorder costing around £1500 new, but yours is a fair bit cheaper and therefore may not be worth spending the money on a repair.
