Need a Sub for films.

I like depth/extension with fidelity as well as impact.

To pair with dali Ikon speakers for 5.1.

The dali sub is EOL and RS have them for £399 which is very good.

That or a monolith?

I'm not sure of the specs of each of these - are they both ported? If so, what are the tuning points of each of them?

The BK Monolith is often recommended on here as giving great output for great value.

If you are open to buying secondhand, you might be able to pick up a bargain :)

Spoke to Tom at BK, we concluded two XXLS400's would be great in my room.

I told him I have no Probs with one monolith but two (plus cost is where I draw the line).

Two 400's will be as potent with higher fidelity and better in room response.
Makes it less likely I'll need an antimode which is more recommended for the monos. SO that money can go toward the second 400 in the future.
