Hi guys, I'd like to have a portable DAB radio which can also be connected to an Android and iPhone for the kitchen which can be moved from room to room.

Would it be better to go for a stand alone radio? Or for something like a Sonos or Amazon Echo and stream radio from an app?

    My budget is £150-200.

    Again DAB is not good.
If you want it for your kitchen, I suggest you get yourself a radio that has FM and internet radio.
You can hook it up to your home wifi and listen to stations in better quality than DAB (easily) or even FM - from around the globe!
    DAB offers nothing.
For £150 you can get a decent unit.

    Thanks Ken.

Forgive my lack of knowledge on all this, but is internet radio something like Tunein radio? If so, my concern is the amount of data my wife would use every month. She probably listens to an hour of radio a day.

Internet radio does not use a lot of data, compared to Netflix or even spotify.
Besides once you are connected to home wifi it shouldn't matter, unless you are on a very very limited data plan!
    Most people are not.

OCEAN DIGITAL WR282CD dab/dab+/fm wi-fi / internet radio / bluetooth / UPnP & DNLA £ 90 from Amazon , great little radio , Ocean have a lot of models so you may find something you like more but for a ' do it all ' model this is hard to beat for the price.

Thanks guys. I'm on unlimited data on wifi, but no doubt there's a fair use policy and I'm currently using approximately 100gb (no idea how as I hardly download anything and there are only 2 of us using the internet)!

I like the spec on the Ocean Digital. I'm also looking at the Amazon Echo Plus and Sonos One. Going to do a comparison and make purchase this weekend.

Yeah don't worry between us we use over 2000 GB a month with 3900 GB the highest recorded a couple of years ago and i've never been restricted , streaming HD movies is the biggest killer .

BT , fibre , infinity 2 with unlimited + free w/e and evening calls costs me around 50 quid with my current contract , that does include a tenner discount for being a so called valued customer though.
Not cheap i guess but better than finding £200 added on your bill for excess use at the end of the month :D
