    Hi, I wouldn't mind getting a D-VHS recorder. Are there any that have a fibre optic digital input? If I can record Dolby 5.1 onto a tape from my Sky+ box, it might just tempt me into buying one in the future.

    No you can'e record DD 5.1 onto D-VHS, what's more, they don't even have RGB input :confused:
    What a wasted opportunity, no wonder it didn't take off.

    Have you thought about recordable DVD they are available now! The only thing I was told on the forum that they are bringing a new type of laser next year (blue?) so the will be able to record more info per disc.

    I wouldn't hold your breath for the next gen DVD recorders using the new laser technology.
    It'll be a year at least before they appear in the US and another year before they show up over here.
