D:/ is not accesible incorrect function

for some reason my dvd drive has stopped working. when i ry and play cd or dvd i get a message saying "D:/ is not accesible incorrect function" i've also having trouble burning data files. has my dvd drive packed up?

try reinstalling the driver or looking for updated drivers. worked for me when mine started playing up.

Try boot up from a bootable CD when you turn the PC on, make sure you set or tell the PC to boot from the optical drive first. IF it doesnt then most likely your drive has packed up.

If you are bit tech savy, go into the BIOS and see if the drive is detected, some drives get detected but they simply dont read disks any longer.
