CD Projekt RED just announced their new project, and it's going to stir a lot of emotion in the old-school RPG crowd. The Witcher 2 dev's next game will be Cyberpunk, based on the pen-and-paper RPG of the same name.
Cyberpunk is a product of CD Projekt RED's “second team,” and they promise the same level of quality that we've come to expect from their RPGs.
The upcoming RPG will have a non-linear story with different character classes. There will also be tons of weapons, upgrades, and “cool, high-tech toys.” It was also mentioned that Cyberpunk‘s pen-and-paper roots will play into the game's mechanics.
Cyberpunk will be running on the REDengine, the same engine used in The Witcher 2, and CD Projekt RED promises cutting-edge graphics with their new title.
Below are two new images from the conference that show off what Cyberpunk‘s art style.
No release date was given, but I'm sure we can expect more info on Cyberpunk in the coming months.
