Customs Charge

I've been stung for the customs charge for a delivery from cdwow.

They used to refund it, but they seem to have stopped it now.

Just thought I'd let people know so you can be aware for future purchases.

I ordered the Shield season2. Cost around £28 I think. Wasn't particularly big (around the size of 3 dvds).

They stopped refunding for orders placed after 25th December 2003 ? (if not that date very close to it) now make no mention of refunds on their website
This has been discussed repeatedly here and on other forums over the last month.

Absolute joke...plus so many of my discs go missing these days too, i never get anything from play these days either!!!

Needless to say they only charge customs on items over £18, so anything less that that and you should be fine...

You got it! I ordered it when it was 21.99, cd-wow are doing all Criterions for 17.99, not bad i think...

i ordered recently LOTR : FOTR £14.99 tried cancelling the order after seeing this thread but was too late.

just gonna have to wait and see, are packages still going missing or have royal mail sorted this out.

You should be ok with LOTr as it's under £18 - the custom's charge only applies at deliveries above this value.

I order from them regularly and, apart from one slightly delayed package, I've never had problems with lost disks or anything.

Ordered 24 season 1 from CD-Wow, it was despatched last Friday but not arrived yet, reckon I'll be getting stung as they never take this long to arrive!

Cue earache from Mrs.Breszh - "Customs charge? you never mentioned a customs charge.....etc etc"

Same as you Breszh, ordered 24 Season 1 last Thurs, it's probably lying next to yours in the offices of H.M. Customs, god bless them !

I got a delivery attempt letter through today, £8.50 customs charge against 24 Season 1.

It bugs me as its delayed the delivery from what would have been a couple of days (as every previous CD-Wow order I've made) to a couple of weeks.
