    Hey,

We have a free standing water feature. It comprises a tall box (high thigh/hip height maybe?) with a hollow bowl that sits on top upside down (so you don't see the inside). The bowl has a hole for the hose at the top, which connects to the pump. The water shoots out the hose in the bowl and runs down the sides, back into the box.

    I want to customise it:

    ditch the ball
sink the box half in the ground
put the pump at the bottom and fill say 300mm with water
drill an overflow drainage hole to stop it filling up in rain (say 10mm above water line)
put some sort of mesh that drops down say 150mm from the top (this will leave a void between mesh and water)
fill the mesh with some pebbles
    use a flush spray head

This is the sort of thing I had in mind (but imagine the bowl is as per above box):

Seeing this picture has given me another idea: ditch the box and keep the bowl (turn it upside down so the hole is at the bottom) - fill the bowl with the pebbles and have the spray head come through the hole. But how would you seal the hole from water getting back out?

I need some inspiration! I'll take pics tonight.

Also, any recommendations for a solar powered pump, with battery and on/off switch?

    Thanks
