    My partner just got herself a new PC and I want to test drive the DVD player from it through my Panny AE100 projector. Someone mentioned a web link where you could customise the screen resolution to suit the native res of the projector. And what is the native res on the panny BTW?

    Also any particular tips on setting up a PC to a projector would be welcome.

    It's only for a bit of fun at the moment, but you never know...

    The video card is the ATI Radeon 9000 Pro.

    Cheers

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    Have a look here - You should be ok if you follow the instructions there. With a Radeon 9000, you should also be very pleasantly surprised at the result !!

    To get the actual Powerstrip settings as a Custom Resolution you should put the following string into a text editor (notebook will do fine), copy the text, and then paste it into the Custom resolution screen in Powerstrip using the Paste function.

    856x480=856,40,72,80,480,4,5,11,31500,342

    Also make sure you've goot the following settings on the AE100 itself:

    Panny AE100 special setting:
    Option->PC Priority->WIDE

    Once you've seen W480 on the AE100, you'll be spoiled forever !! :laugh: ;)

    All the best,

    Sean G.

    Edit to change link - wrong one used originally.

    I think the program you are looking for is Powerstrip. Should be easy to find in a search engine.

    An alternative to Powerstrip if your using a Radeon is http://www.rage3d.com/r3dtweak/ which amongst other things can unlock many native resolutions for the Radeon including 856x480 for the AE100.

    Enjoy,

    Phil
