    Hi,

Small query - in their latest ad, Curry's blatantly point at a Hitachi 32PD3000 and claim "like this TV, at just £1999" - or similar. I went into a local branch and its still the usual £2500. Is there anything that can be done? I was going to wait a month or two to afford it for £2500, (at JL), but if I can get it for £500 less I'd be mad not to try.

Anyone notice any flaws in this? :(

There was a thread a while back on the warranty stuff.

Take the warranty if they will sell you the plasma for the price you want, then cancel the warranty as soon as you get home. You are within your rights to do so, no questions asked.

...and/or the Advertising Standards Authority. It wouldn't be the first time that a DSG company has fallen foul of the ASA.

ASA is only for print ads, if it's an ad on the telly then it's the ITC you want.

seen an advert last nite for Currys, but the one they showed for £1995 was not an hitachi unit, but something like samsung or hyundai or something.

Nealgs is correct. The plasma which she points to for £1,995 is a Hyundai, not a Hitachi.

Then with currys you have to pay something like £1000 for 3/5 years warranty... Still not worth it.
Plus they will try to sell you "something that you really need" as crap cables, crap speakers, crap tuner, for something like 3 times their original value in money...

Damn my eyes, I swore it was the Hitachi.

I was just hoping it had been reduced and price matchable with JL :)
