Looking at buying a dual layer DVD burner for my MCE 2005 box, primarily to archive recorded progams and video.

What is the current prefered system?

Been looking at ebuyer and the sony's seem to gert poor reviews.

The NEC 3500 doesnt fair to badly.

    What can any one recoemnd?

    Thanks guys :)

does it come with a driver CD? As most stores are offering OEM, I presume it does not. If not how easy is it to down load the drivers? There does not seem to be a link at the NEC web site

What DVD burning software do you use? I curently have Roxio Creator 6 I think but i ahve had the invitation to upgrade to7!

You don't need drivers for these devices, they're generic and XP has built-in support for them.

I use Nero for burning, in the past I used Roxio 5 but preferred Nero.
