Just installed it and played for 20 minutes and either my Xbox is dying or this game needed more work as the audio is constantly glitching (have my 360 connected via optical to amp) and the frame rate is terrible, goes from smooth when inside a room to pretty choppy when outside and even worse when guards start firing.

Sounds like something is up your end, plays silky smooth on mine and no problems with the audio. I'm using HDMI though not optical. Maybe try a reinstall?

I had that the first time i played; quitting to dash and reloading seemed to solve it

EDIT: I had the audio issue, not the framerate thing...

Same for me with the audio, but only on optical when I switched to HDMI it was fine.

Playing the MP and while the familiar Crysis 2 gameplay is there, the maps are a mixed bag, both in level design and graphics.

All of the Crysis 2 maps had stunning visuals, while this game's maps have inferior textures in some cases and are equal to C2 in others. Makes me have EA sequel deja vu after seeing bad maps on BF3 after great ones in BFBC2.

Best example is the reimagined Skyline map which is now rundown and overgrown. It's remarkable seeing the same map after years of decay, but it just doesn't look as good as in C2.

I'm going marksman on them in Crash Site/Spears playlist and there are plenty of places to snipe from. Lots of places to climb around to if you look around.

I've set up a thread on the 360 game classifieds for those that may have previously played it and want to offset the cost of crysis 3 :D

Be interested in hearing if there have been any changes from the MP Beta. I know Covert suggested there may be.

What resolution do you have your 360 set to? as I am wondering if lowering it to 720p might improve things.

Have done a bit of searching and I am definitely not alone in experiencing the choppy frame rate and audio glitching so hopefully a patch will sort it out for me.

It's an interesting idea, but it's one that DICE have done before. Oasis from BC1 and then the developed and flooded Oasis of BC2.

In Skyline, you walk through the gym, the rooftop, the greenhouses, etc and they are all knackered. It's a shock to see if you'd only just played Skyline on C2 like I did last week.

All the maps are like that. In C2 you saw a host of Manhattan locations that were war-torn, barricaded, etc. In C3 they are like something out of I Am Legend, with nature having taken over all of man's achievements and everything not just being damaged, but in absolute abandon and ruin.

it's also been done in the gears of war game, if you go on gears 3 you will see places like gridlock that are just places of ruin now due to the war.

i do like it when games do this as it looks really good.

There was a weapon balance patch during the beta which I think applies to the final version:

    • “Marshall” shotgun’s damage tweaked
    • “OGR” machine gun’s recoil reduced
    • Predator Bow’s charge time reduced (from 1.3s to 1.0s)
    • ADS sensitivity modified to improve weapon handling and aiming
    • “Pinger” vehicle rotation speed increased
    • AY69 submachine gun damage increased
    • “Swarmer” kill streak reward damage increased
    • “Swarmer” kill streak reward damage tweaked

I don't see any graphical updates from the beta, although I'm playing from disc and have mentioned that some maps are just prettier than others. Might install it to see if there's any difference.

Pretty decent so far, first Crysis game ive played and it's better than I thought it would be, so far the encounters seem to be a series of little sandboxes that let you play around and "hunt" with your powers.

Not played a huge amount yet but so far so good :)

Not sure what's the problem with mine then, will try running the disk maintenance tool later and see if that improves things.

How do the Hunter Edition bonuses work, are they on the current run of Hunter Edition discs or are they the Stalker Pack download?

There is a leaflet with the Hunter Edition DLC code included inside the game case.

So the Stalker Pack is separate to the Hunter content?

    What's in each?

Can't speak for the Stalker Pack but the Hunter Edition Pack includes...

    - Day 1 access to the Predator Bow, Recon Arrow and Hunter Nanosuit Module
    - 5 levels of bonus XP
    - Predator Bow camo skin
    - 3 unique dog tags

Sold my code on eBay for £4 as I have no interest in the multiplayer.

Oh and I changed my 360 so it's now connected to the amp via HDMI and the audio dropouts are no where near as bad and the choppy frame rate has gone.

Stalker Pack - silenced Jackal shotgun, a camo skin for the Jackal, two dog tags.

I wouldn't worry about either packs to be honest.

Most of what they contain will get unlocked as it's a double XP weekend.

There's a Brawler pack as well: "BRAWLER PACK
Get early multiplayer access to the Feline submachine gun and exclusive camo. With an extremely fast rate of fire and a 60 round magazine the Feline is highly
effective and deadly, at short range."

    Only tried the mp.

    It's really really fun.

The one thing that they need to work on is the instant deaths from nowhere. You don't even know you're being shot at, then you are dead. Killcam then shows them shooting at you for an age, it's the one thing that slightly spoils it. It's a game where you should be able to react if you know you're in danger but sometimes, it doesn't let you. Don't know if its down to lag or what, but its the only thing that spoils it.

Game is all about jumping, climbing, pouncing and diving. The verticality in the maps is superb. And the nature of the game suits it.

Its biggest problem is that it is so different to learn than say COD or even Halo that people find it hard to get into. But get even half way decent (and I'm not even that) and its bags of fun!

Bit disappointed in the campaign so far, just hope it grows on me! Also, cant believe how poor it looks in 3D, looks totally washed out in comparison to 2D.

After hitting level 20 in the MP, I can say this is a disappointment and doesn't achieve as highly as C2 did for me.

Jerky animation on the soldiers, lag and hit detection issues making what should be clear kills a gamble and maps that are impressive in size and scope, but often have fuzzy textures making them a bit ugly when you stop and scrutinise.

You'd think they could just reskin the C2 gameplay with new maps, but it's taken a step back. Typical latter-day 360 sequel syndrome. Pull them in with greatness and hope they come back for more of the same, them serve them a slightly inferior dish and expect gratitude.

Just finished my Veteran playthrough, was a bit short but loved it non the less, played pretty much the whole thing cloaked with the bow, great being able to pin enemies to the scenery or turn down the strength and just wound them in the knee ;)
