    Hi,
does anybody know if Crying Freeman, the animated Version, not the rather
average Gans/Dacascos film, have been released on DVD, if so where can they be purchased?

I found this on ebay, but i suspect them to be VCD transfers, can anybody verify?

    thx,

    hi,

Just a quick warning: whilst the first two episodes are quite good, the animation deteriorates very rapidly, after episode one! And it doesn't improve either, animation or plotwise.

It's a shame that something this classy (the original Manga was awesome), was turned into a cheapy anime series, and not given the time and money to do it right!

I bought one of the videos years back (after seeing the film) and to be honest it put me off Anime until very recently... poor animation, dreadfully OTT voice acting, packed full of cliches and terrible script. It was just plain awful.

I've got the VCD's myself, so i'm looking for the DVD Versions because of the
    PQ.

Whilst i agree that it could have been done far better, particularly episode 3
is quite poor, i still prefer it over the Christophe Gans film.
And it's definitely still one of my favourite animated films (i don't say Anime),
one of the reasons being the style, no huge round eyes and funny noses for a change.

Anyways i think £14 is a good buy even if it was only episode 1&2 :)

Mine turned up this morning from dvdpacific - great service from them as usual.
Its a very good anime series with some great art work But like you say they ran out of money for the last 4 eps resulting in some very poor animated bits repeated shots etc.
It is nice to see it Uncut and with its original Japanese lang tracks - The Eng dubbing its bloody awful though so stay well away from that.
