I am looking to buy a 20 to 28" screen for our front room and have a budget of just £500. I need to decide whether to go for a decent 28" CRT or a budget 20/26" LCD.

I have seen Video Seven LTV27C on Amazon for £470, and have read good things about it on this forum. But my question is this, are LCD screens, in particular budget models, as good for picture as CRTs? I had a look at them side by side in Dixons and I have to say the LCD pictures did not look as good... (except the HD demonstration ohmigod that looks good :) )

    Thanks for your thoughts,
    Tim

Price for price, a CRT will be better than an LCD. Especially at the budget end and especially so for SD.
