Was about to buy the Toshiba 36" screen. Had a look at their US site, and the equivalent model (I presume) 34HFX84 has 2 HDMI jacks on the back. 2 questions

Is there any indication that such sets would be released over here?

Are they using HDMI just for connectivity, or are they saying that TV is capable of taking advantage of high-def?

I haven't seen or heard of any HDMI equipped CRT TVs coming to Europe. Currently there's little need for HDMI and since LCD & Plasma seem to be taking over the market rapidly I can't imagine that anyone will make one in the future.

I've had a look at the specs for the 34" US model you quoted and it will accept HD signals (from an off-board tuner) but I can't see that it has anything in common with the 36" Toshiba models that are made for Europe so it's not really an equivalent model I'm affraid.
