I see Woolies are doing a 20" Crown LCD TV for £269.99. This looks like a good sized and priced set for my kitchen, which will be undergoing a revamp in the next month or so.

    Link to Woolies

Has anyone any experience of this set? Is it wall mountable?

It will be connected by an aerial lead from my Sky Box in the lounge, which also feeds two bedroom TV's. The Plasma in the lounge is fed by an RGB Scart from the Sky Box. I presently have a small 15" LCD in the kitchen fed by the aerial cable and picture quality is fine.

Just to say I bought one for my kids playroom; a nice unit and quality is absolutely fine for dvd and video (plus Sky) a great buy for the money.

Downside - 1 Scart, can be a pain not to have multiple inputs but does have S Video and AV2 on standard Audio ports (i.e. L, R and video).
Viewing angle is ok, but not as wide as more expensive units.
Power is via a 12V lead transformed from mains (personal choice but I prefer a direct source - but then this way it's one thing less to go wrong!!)

Upside - Good picture for pure sources (i.e. Sky, Freeview, DVD).
Nicam, Teletext, straight forward menu and installation system, Cheap!!!!

Oh and one other thing, the box claims that it comes with a wall hanging bracket - mine didn't have one in?! - may get back to Woolworths about this, but don't really need it at present, but it has the bolt holes in the back to be hung.

I got one of these for the Kids Bedroom. Mine did have the mounting bracket. ;) Incredible price for a basic sytem with stand and mount.

The Picture quality through RF2 (Digibox out) is good, in fact better than i expected considereing the price.

DVD through scart is even better, and as previously mentioned, the unit has S Vid and av ports on the side.

The bracket is strong but not adjustable (tilt). It was mounted and up an working within an hour.

All in all a cracking bargain, in fact i might get another for the Kitchen :smashin:

Just bought one as a stop gap. It seems excellent for the money.

Does anybody know the sky code for it though? :lease:

Decided to go for the 32" version, got it for a bargain £480.00, as they were having a staff 20% off day a week or so back and luckily I knew a member of staff.

    Quick Update.

One year and 2 months on. This tv died. First the picture went and left just the sound, then a couple of hours later the sound went:( .

The tv doesn't go into standby, it stays on but with no output.

I am guessing its a one year warranty on these.:(

Will have a chat with the chaps in woolies today, and let you know the outcome. Might be useful for anyone thinking of buying one of these and hoping for a couple of years use.
