Well after the third attempt at watching this I still haven't got more then about halfway through. I Keep falling asleep. So, without giving the ending away, should I percivere? This has never happened to me before, so I don't know if its me being tired or just a rather dull movie (great cinematography, from what I can remember though!)

    Cheers Rob.

Fantastic film, worth the 9 cups of coffee it'll take to keep you awake. The English dub is pretty good tho, only a couple of lines that make you want to curl up and die..

I've only in the last 3/4 months got into watching this genre of film (HK cinema/martial arts, etc) and can't get enough of them. I wouldn't expect someone who isn't likewise to really enjoy CTHD that much.
I thought it was an excellent film though.
Although I feel this is a case of all the hype surrounding the film raising expectations too high. (IMHO

    :) )

I think the biggest problem for most people is suspending belief during the flying/walking on water/running up walls/etc type stuff.
It is interesting how many folk seem quite happy to suspend belief during sci-fi or action adventure which often have totally unrealistic scenes, but then think the stuff in CTHD is somehow silly and unbelievable.

    I agree loz,
Everyone should watch Iron Monkey first, then they won't blink an eyelid at anything that occurs during CTHD ;)

    HI,

Stick with it! It may take a couple of viewings for you to get your head round it, and for it to sink into your subconcious!

And as others have said, you do need to suspend your disbelief!

OK, I'll give it another go and then.. THATS IT! If I fall asleep again, then I'll know I'm definately not for this genre

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

I think the film suffered from the lack of a decent bad guy. Right from the start you know the good guy can kick her arse so there is no shock when he does, or any feeling he might not be able to.
