Crossover settings

Can anyone tell me whether I've got my amp set-up correctly please.

I have the kef 2005.2's, the sub crossover is set to max (140hz) i believe and have the amp set to 80hz.

Reason I did this is that the satallites are rated down to 80hz (I believe I read that in the leaflet instructions that came with them)

So my logic was to set the amp crossover to send frequencies lower than the satalites can handle to the sub, but set the sub to handle up to 140.

Is that the right thing to do?

Reason I ask is having used the auto set up initially i set the microphone up above ear level and in the wrong spot in the room, so I tried it again a few times to get it right. Also had the sub down to low to begin with.

On the later ones the amp detected crossovers of 120 - 140 but I've set it back to 80hz

Just wanted to know if I'm doing my system an injustice doing this?
