Critique System: Onkyo HT-RC260, Polk Monitor 50 (3.1 for now, 5.1 later)

Hi, I am curious about thoughts on this system setup. I want to start with a 3.1 system for the time being, I've just moved in and haven't figured where exactly I'll put the back speakers so I'll have 3.1 instead of 5.1 for a few months.

Receiver: Onkyo HT-RC260 (Onkyo HT-RC260 - 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver | Model Information | Onkyo USA Home Theater Products)

Front Side Speakers: Polk Monitor 50 (2x) Monitor 50 Product Page : Two-way floorstanding loudspeaker : Polk Audio

Front Middle Speaker: Polk RM8 Center

Subwoofer: Polk PSW10 Polk Audio - PSW Series Explosive Performance of Movies and Music

Any comments or critiques. Will the above system work? Is the receiver overkill? I really could just go with a 5.1 system but I could not find a receiver that had 1080p upscaling and 4 HDMI inputs as the one above.
