I love the idea but a bit worried about keep catching the cables when swinging and dodging and weaving.

Something like this would be immense with a wireless and lighter headset.

I'd even love a good boxing game in 2d with the moves because I must admit I enjoyed Wii boxing all those years ago.

Anyone ended up buying this ?

After I stopped laughing at this video review I am very tempted to pick it up for £20.

I'll be getting it. I had an operation last week though, and can't do cardio exercise for a few weeks. Will grab it after then. Have been looking forward to playing this for a while, so the timing sucks a.bit]

Finally had a try of this. Such a good fit for VR. I don't think the campaign will last that long, but the PvP should be good for a laugh.

The training routines before each fight are good and probably harder work than the fights themselves.

I'm not a huge boxing fan, but would love to see a full blown fight night in VR.

How is the tracking when blocking? I'm hearing on psvr that blocking is sometimes problematic due to the move controllers getting in front of the headset tracking. pc vr headsets track differently so don't get that issue. It's one of the reasons I'm hestitant in getting this game just yet, even though I absolute want to play it. Just waiting to hear more from players and if patches will get around the issue (if it is an issue)

I didn't really notice any issues on the couple of fights I played through. The lights on the headset and move controllers should be different colours though, so this shouldn't really be a problem.

Played my first proper session of this yesterday. Fantastic workout and the fact it's set in the Rocky/Creed universe is a bonus.

As Jimster mentions above, the gym is actually a lot tougher than the fights but it's a great exercising training workout and had in fact exhausted me out before I had my first fight, forcing myself to come back to it later in the evening. When I came back to it, I did some freestyle fighting matches and I loved it. Won my first fight because I chose rookie level and a red haired fighter beatable. Then I went onto playing the main campaign which feels like it's going to be a very enjoyable journey but I have a long way to go in finishing that which I intend to.

The tracking is great but sometimes my punches go through the opponent which kills the illusion a bit but it really isn't a big deal as every punch is counting depending on whether opponent it is blocking it or having his guard down. Getting knocked down is quite clever as your conscienceness is knocked out of your body, lol and you have to "spiritually" run back to your body by swinging your arms vigorously (Sprint Vector style) be for the count is over. Very cool.

The ringside crowd and mimicking of a real life boxing atmosphere really adds to the enjoyment.

In response to @Lancia34 asking if this is worth it at its current sale price on the general chat thread...well, for me it is so far, great workout, great atmosphere using various mood music from the Creed movies, good graphics and I had a friend over yesterday who really enjoyed it too.

I need to complete the campaign to fully assess its worth but the gym alone offers a great work out incentive to beat personal bests.

Although I have not got Knockout League I suspect Creed is the superior because KL is sort of based on QTE (quick time event) mechanism gameplay. Ie to beat opponents require certain pattern of punches/blocks/dodges. Whereas Creed is relatively more simulation, you are free to fight your opponents with your own chosen techniques.

That is how I understand the difference as that was the major criticism of KL when it was released. Having said that, KL might still be a fun title in its own way but its a very different type of gameplay that requires memorising patterns rather than freestyle fighting simulation in Creed.

Creed is more like boxing. Knockout League is more like the old game Punch Out. The training minigames in Knockout League are meant to be good though.

Finally finished the campaign as I have only been playing this in uh short bouts over the last few weeks, no pun intended. In fact I only played it in seven sessions. Each session, just one fight with a pre-training session. One of those sessions was outside the campaign, as I only did the training exercises and one freestyle fight.

So if you done the maths from above and concluded that the campaign has only six fights and is ridiculously short, you be right. And I am disappointed in that. Neither was there any end sequence to celebrate with. Just last fight. The End. Oh well. For a VR only game I expect more a longer campaign.

There are incentives to keep playing but only for trophies and of course if you into PvP. I got 40% trophies so there is plenty more to achieve, only one trophy requires playing PvP (just to finish one PvP fight, don't have to win it).

But I did enjoy the very little campaign there was. Was so cool to have Rocky Balboa training me (voice actor does a good job channelling Stallone). The fights themselves are very atmospheric. Each fighter has a different style. I love that it knows if I am punching hard or feebly as Creed (Jordan himself voicing) expressing his state and strategy needed.

And most importantly, this is one helluva workout. I have quite a few intense workout VR games now and I can hands down confirm that this is the biggest fat burner VR game so far. The training gym is a fantastic workout itself. One could plan out a home workout program incorporating this game as part of a fitness journey.

    Great stuff.

In terms of tracking, it's actually 100% accurate as my virtual arm is always following my real life action....but the problem is the game is not registering contact at all times...I am a programmer in Unity and Unreal engines and I know how tricky it is to get collision detection accurate with complex objects at high speeds. I feel collision detection is about 90% detected. And the detection of strength of punches (which programmatically, is down to analysing the speed and acceleration of your Move Controller) is pretty great, although not always accurate about the force I am putting into my punches.

Ultra short campaign aside, this is another amazing VR experience.

    8.5/10

I'd concur that it is probably the most strenuous of the VR games I have played. Due to that, even though the campaign is finished, it is still fun to jump in for a couple of fights.

There have been a few boxers added that aren't in the campaign too - mostly in the recent update.

Some of the achievements are fun. I think completing all the of the fights on the hardest difficulty will be a decent challenge too.
