Credit Expert

Hi,

Does anyone know what the Experian/Credit Expert score goes upto?

Just got a free trial and currently sitting at 984 (excellent)

Does it go up much further or is that pretty much as good as it gets?

Not much room for improvement then. I imagine the rate it could decline would be quite fast

I'm on 999, but had a wrong 'late payment' flag on a mortgage from 6 years ago.
Despite the 999, that wrong flag was putting some lenders off.
Experian had a draft letter to help me sort that out.

Yep 999 is the top. Pretty meaningless as every lender will have their own criteria. If yours is 999 it will help though.

Hope you didn't pay for your score lol!

Experian will push it as being important, but it is only a snap shot of the information they have on your file. Lenders use their own scoring systems and won't see your score as part of the credit checking process.

Even a 999 score doesn't guarantee you credit.

Which is a good point, and something Experian don't take into account when issuing you with your random number :)

It also does not count how much you currently have on credit. I have a 999 score but I also have a gigantic chunk out on a stooze.
